Sinclair Law Solicitors are entering the Corporate Golf North West Event, on Wednesday 13th October, to play in support of our chosen charity, Beechwood Cancer Care.
Our keen golfing solicitors Simeon Bowen-Fanstone and David Bevan will be joined by Paul Povey, from Brewin Dolphin and James Turner from Terraces to make up the team of four.
“I started to play golf as a teenager, and some of my early scorecards would have been good, had the sport been darts (180!). Golf can be a frustrating game, and as a youth, frustration would sometimes get the better of me, and my club would end up travelling further than my golf ball! I realised by my mid-teens that travelling the world playing golf for a living was not going to be achievable and decided to become a Family Law Solicitor instead.
The photograph of me was taken by my long-suffering golf widow (wife), who occasionally caddies for me. My wife’s knowledge of golf extends only to the film ‘Tin Cup’, starring Kevin Costner – fittingly, therefore, her club advice is always to use a 7 iron, irrespective of whether I’m on a green, in a bunker, or on the fairway.
The organisers of the event are donating 10% of the revenue to charity, and this will be donated to the chosen charity of the overall winning team. My Directors have told me that we have to win – so no pressure there then! Fingers crossed for some fair weather on the fairways as it is for a very worthy cause.” Simeon Bowen-Fanstone, Solicitor.
