You will remember from previous blog posts that Sinclair Law have been working hard during the pandemic to ensure consistency of service and have been witnessing our clients’ Wills through lounge windows, on car windscreens and in gardens!

Now the government is moving to legislate to allow for video witnessing of Wills, which can be backdated to any Wills made from 31st January 2020 and will be in force until January 2022 if necessary.

This move has been welcomed by many practitioners, especially so that those clients who may feel more comfortable conducting matters over video or those clients who are quite a distance away from their solicitor’s office are able to sign their Wills.

We at Sinclair Law have the facilities to witness the signing of Wills over video, or we do now have a ‘Covid secure’ meeting room with plastic screening in place to protect everyone.

If you do opt for your Will signing over video, we will make sure that you are protected from any duress from those around you and will make a recording of the video for future reference to ensure that your wishes are met.

If you need any advice on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and estate planning, please do not hesitate to contact the experts at Sinclair Law on 01625 526 222.
