“I joined Sinclair Law Solicitors in October 2022, as a private client solicitor and head of the private client team. I was keen to join the firm from the moment I heard of the vacancy. Specialising in family law means that the firm is dedicated to providing a caring, personal and attentive service for clients during emotional and stressful times. Developing a private client department alongside an established and leading family team seems to me, to make perfect sense.
The firm has a history of carrying out private client work. However, now is the time to refresh our brand in this regard and grow the firm to include a thriving private client department.
I have been working in private client for almost 4 years and love the variety. Every day you meet different people from the biggest variety of backgrounds with the most interesting stories and life experiences. And every day I am reminded not only that I love what I do, but that it’s never too soon to start your estate planning. Estate planning is a very generic term but includes so many different things. From ensuring you have a current and accurate, valid Will in place; to preparing a lasting power of attorney. It also includes an element of financial planning, using mechanisms like trusts, pensions and insurance policies to both safeguard your future and protect your family; as well as accurate record keeping to assist any loved ones in managing your affairs when you have lost capacity or in the event of your death.
I completed my law degree at City, University of London; followed by a Master’s in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice at the University of Birmingham before engaging in my LPC at the University of Law in Manchester. I completed my training contract at a niche law firm in Cheshire, following which I led a private client department in Didsbury.
We moved to Didsbury in June 2022, just 2 months before the birth of my son. We live an active lifestyle, full of outdoor adventures with our cocker spaniel, Poppy.” – Jobeth Copping-Barrett
